About The Rover P6 Club

rp6c logo The Rover P6 Club

The Club was born in 1993 under the name of The Rover P6 Drivers Club and in 2010 celebrated it's 17th birthday just as our beloved P6's celebrated the 47th anniversary since the launch and start of production cars. Now just as The Rover Company stayed on the cutting edge of modern developments, so to the Club has moved into the 21st century and in 2005 the Club was re-branded as THE ROVER P6 CLUB because it was felt that we were more than just drivers, we are drivers, owners and enthusiasts, keen to preserve a piece of British Heritage, and we remain the only specialist P6 Club which is run by an enthusiastic committee of volunteers who own and drive Rover P6 cars and who have a wealth of technical no how.

RP6C National Rally 2010

Etc/GMT

RP6C Logo The 2010 National Rally will be held at the Armitage Park, Rugeley, which is just a few miles off the M6 Motorway, in Staffordshire. We have something slightly different arranged for this year, because as well as something for the juniors, we are planning to carry out a P6 valuation day. We will have a limited number of timed slots for this so it will literately be first booked in on the day will get the valuations done on their car, but first you need to book into the National Rally itself. The purpose of this adventure is to train a few more valuers while setting a standard playing field for all valuations carried out by the club. There will of course be a few competitions to take part in and as always there will be the self judging for your favourite P6. The ‘Ladies’ and Next Generation’ also have their choice, as does our Chairman because this year’s new trophy is called ‘The Chairman’s Choice’. There will also be a Furthest Travelled and Best Everyday P6 along with Best Non P6. There are a few caravan places with power for anyone who wants to camp on site and plenty of local b&b’s. There is also a restaurant on site in the golf club itself and we will be booking an teatime / early evening buffet type meal, so there will be no need to rush off, but if you could highlight your interest in this, (to be paid for on the day). The gates are open from 09.30am  and entry is £5.00 per car payable to RP6C in advance.

Please return your completed entry form (click here) to the club address, marked for The National Rally and remember to enclose an SAE. Passes will be sent out a few weeks before the event.

RP6C ANNIVERSARY RALLY, BEAMISH MUSEUM

Etc/GMT

RP6C Logo    The Rover P6 Club's Anniversary Rally 2010 will take place at the Beamish Museum on Sunday 16th May 2010. Our team in the north east have secured a supreme deal for us, for the day. Entry is normally £16.00 per adult and £10.00 for children, but our team have negotiated the special rate of £15.00 for the car, driver and one passenger. Each subsequent passenger to be charged at £7.50 which represents a massive saving on normal prices. Well done team! Entry to the event is strictly by advance bookings, so don't leave it to the last minute and I'm afraid if you turn up on the day having not booked in, you'll find yourself on the car park. Beamish rules also restrict movement of vehicles on site after 1030hrs until 1600hrs, so get there early and enjoy a full day, there is absolutely loads to see and do. Rally plaques will not be given out until after 1600hrs.  "There will be a couple of trophies as well... so get polishing! or not as the case maybe!!!!!!! "     More details to follow about what is planned for the day but in the meantime you can get booked by downloading the  printable entry form, filling it in and send it off with a cheque to the address on the form. Don't forget the SAE. This event is open to all Rover Cars but unfortunately not 4x4's (sorry not our ruling).

P6 in the Snow

P6 in the Snow

If you have to go out in the bad weather in the UK, make sure you are prepared. It's a good idea to take certain items in the car with you like, a spade, a blanket, warm & hi visibility clothing, gloves, sturdy shoes or boots, a drink, something to eat (sweets and chocolate are recommended) and a torch. Plus make sure that your mobile is fully charged and if possible take a car phone charger with you. It's also a good idea to let someone else know where you are going and what time you expect to be there. But most of all, ask yourself 'is my journey necessary?'  And if it is, above all 'let's be careful out there!'
