[1] The Rover P4 Drivers Guild National Rally 2008
This years RP4DG National Rally will be held at Woburn Abbey on the 11th May 2008.
WOBURN ABBEY
Set in a beautiful 3,000 acre deer park. Woburn Abbey has been the home of the Dukes of Bedford for nearly 400 years, but today it is occupied by the 15th Duke and his family. Woburn is a special place full of history, ancient tales and beautiful objects. And is one of Britain's most treasured houses.
THE DEER PARK
The 3,000 acre deer park is a wonderful place to drive or walk through at any time of the year. There are ten species of deer roaming freely in the park, some of the deer are unique to the park and some are rare. The Père David for example, which originated in China, was saved from extinction by Herbrand, the Eleventh Duke. In 1985, Lord Tavistock donated twenty-two deer to the Chinese Government, to be reintroduced to their native homeland and they have adapted successfully to life in the wild, some fourteen miles (33km) south of Peking. The original twenty-two have thrived to become more than 360 in number.
REFRESHMENTS
There is a coffee shop in the grounds which serves drinks, sandwiches and hot food.
