Does anyone know the paint code for the "Huntsman" finish on the sills of our cars? I need to do some repainting on mine and would like to use the correct colour! Many thanks, Chris.

Front Anti-Roll Bar. Clonk, clunk, clunk, twang. B*ll*cks!?!

Help!

I recently had a front bump-stop replaced on my 1973 P6 3500. When I collected the car from the establishment and proceeded to drive home, the front suspension started making a heavy clunking sound when turning sharply. Once I had checked that nothing was about to fall off, I drove it home and found the problem. The bolts securing the anti roll bar to the top link were very loose! I tightened these up and drove the car. Shortly afterwards the clunking sound returned. The bolts were loose again! I tightened these again and drove the car. Sure enough the problem returned, but the bolts remained tight. I obtained new bolts, cleaned the mating ends of the roll bar, along wih the mating surfaces of the top link (quite rusty) and re-assembled the whole lot with some thread lock smeared generously on all cleaned mating surfaces. The bolts remain nice and tight and the clunking is not so bad, but still occurs from time to time.

Poor Nuts

My chrome S type wheelnuts, despite being around 5 years old, are looking particularly poor.

Does anyone know if these are available (somewhere) in Stainless steel?

Heater Fan

Can anyone report any experience on overhauling the heater fan unit on a P6. The operation of my windscreen blowers is particularly poor. I could blow harder. Much harder.

Is it a case of the fan motor being a bit girly or worn or could it be the sponge seals on the heater flaps have mummified in the period of 34 years? Or a combination of all these. I do know that the fan does not sound particularly urgent when on the higher speed (or is it just good soundproofing)?

Seat Belts

I would like to report on the work I recently had undertaken to my front and rear seat belts of My 1973 3500 P6 by a company called FDTS (in West Byfleet, Surrey). A lady called Sue Taylor at FDTS (01932) 342043 is very helpful and knowledgeable. I had my front and rears rebuilt with new webbing and inertia boxes for the front (the old Winguard interia reels were not convincing enough for me), but FDTS retained the existing tongues and buckles and even managed to find exact NOS replacements for the rear static belt plastic retainers that sit on the parcel shelf that had ripened and split due to UV exposure.

Lamp Lense Seals

Help!

Does Anyone know where you can buy the small rubber washers that seal the screws inside the front and rear lamp lenses. I bought some off EBay a little while back off Margaret (Atkinson?). Bloody things were far too big - more like tap washers - cheers Maggie - nice one. The correct washers are around 7mm OD, 3mm ID and 1.5mm thick.

I did buy some of a perfect fit around 6 years ago, but I forget from whom I obtained them (not Wadhams/Walker or Weekley). I did enquire with a local manufacturer who told me their minimum run was 1000 washers at 4p each, despite them boasting on their web about low minimum numbers of 100 - bunch of shagnasties!
